I have posted before that I am not a believer in hate crime laws. But, to play a little mind game, what would have been the likely result if the facts of this case had been slightly different, say, if the perpetrators had been White instead of Black? Given the racist graffiti that accompanied this rape-torture-murder, would the prosecutors still see this as a simple robbery motive? Moreover, as Ann Coulter asks, would the media do a better job of keeping the story on the front burner of national awareness? And, where are well-known “civil rights activists” and “racial justice crusaders” Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson?
